The president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Kadri Veselin today, has visited the Oda of Doctors, where he met with chairman, Plerat Sejdiu and Federation of Health Union Chairman Blerim Syla.
Wessel has asked for more dignified salaries for health workers, calling for the Law on Salaries to be returned to the Assembly for Integration in line with recommendations by the Constitutional Court.
The purpose of my visit is to thank all health doctors and workers for their extraordinary work they are doing. We have a great obligation to stay close to them as politics and help them. As an opposition party, we will support any government initiative, particularly the administration of the Law on Salaries that we can make within a week. That way we can be close to health workers. These guys are doing their job, and we have to do ours. I was today for comfort to another doctor, my former associate, Dr. Safet Idrizi, who once won the war with Serbia but has lost the battle with COVID today. As he then served people, he has been at the front even these days as a physician. The fact that nine doctors have lost their lives with this disease and some 1,300 health workers have been infected speaks of the great need they have for support”, Vessel said.
Even the leaders of the Oda of Doctors, Sejdiu and the Union Federation, Syla, thanked PDK leader for the visit, praising his approach and concern, in particular for supporting the PDK to return to the Kosovo Parliament's Parliament for the Committee as soon as possible.
Wessel has also met with students of the School of Medicine, who have been asked to stay in Kosovo after studies, to contribute to the country and not to leave.
Kosovo as the country with the smallest number of health workers needs new doctors to reach international health services standards. One of our goals is to create new jobs for future doctors, so for you who are now students but also for the unemployed graduates. I'm happy that in my last term, The PDK, leading Minister Uran Ismaili, has done much for health and would do even more if the former government's mandate” was extended to the end, Wessel told medical students. /
