The 33-year-old is in a ventilator to help him breathe, and his family said what he's experiencing “is rare for a young man at his age unconditionally”, CNN writes.
His family would like to remind the world that COVID-19 is real and not be taken lightly”, they said in a statement given to CNN.
Also, it is important that infected people quarantine and leave their families and friends who know as soon as possible. There is no shame in contracting COVID-19 and people who have it should be responsible and careful to others”, the statement states.
The singer's first hit at top-10 was “Birthday sex”, published in 2009.
He has had more hits since then and successful co-operation with other artists, including The Dolla Sign and YG.
Jeremih's family said in a statement that the virus “has viciously attacked his body” and added that they are “very grateful for all those praying and we seek constant prayers”.
The family believes in daily prayers to God. A fine team of doctors and nurses is helping him recover”, they said, saying progress is being made in his health.
