Pristina Deputy Chairman Muhedin Nushi has said the number of those infected with Coronavirus in Kosovo will continue to increase in the coming days.
In addition, he added that 40 percent of the country's infected is a large number compared to other countries.
According to him, the only way to protect from this virus is to keep the distance and set the mask.
The growth of the infected has been expected and this is not the end. We believe that there will be an even greater number based on increasing the number of tests being conducted at the Kosovo level. Close to 30 percent of us have cases infected in Pristina territory, but 40 percent are on the ground. It's the big percentage compared to other countries. We've asked that more tests take place in other municipalities as well. The only way to protect from this virus is to keep the distance and set the mask. We have no specific strategy as to what will happen to infected persons if we have 0 to 500 people infected, 10,000 to 2,000, or even 3 000”, Nushi said.
Nushi added that the general staff at the government level with that municipality should make selections of hotels or other countries where infected persons could be admitted.
In other countries, hotels are also being selected to serve as temporary hospitals. Why this not apply in Kosovo as well. I think the general staff at the government level with that municipality to make selections of these hotels or other locations where we can accommodate or locate infected persons. The main issue is that health capacities at KKUK alone, including other clinics such as Pulmology, may be incomplete and should be found a way out of this situation, which will not be easy and short”, he added.
Deputy Chairman Nushi said they need supplies with medicines and anti-sermical flu vaccines.
We need supplies constantly. We're already well supplied with drugs but that should be supplied to the Family Medicine Centers. But we're not supplied with seasonal flu vaccines. We still don't have any supplies from central”.
Nushi points out that the Urbanisation Directorate has been closed and citizens' meetings have been cancelled, EO reports.
He said that even the education director has Coronavirus infected, but services continue only in emergency cases.
