Actor Johnny Depp lost the trial against Sun after the judge found that the British newspaper's claims that the actor beat his wife were “essentially true”.
Depp, 57, indicted Nese Group Nespapers, Sun's publisher and one of the journalists Dan Wooton, for an article in 2018 claiming he was violent towards his former wife, actress Amber Heard (34), Reuters reports.
The court refused to compensate Depp for the damage to his reputation. During a three-week session before a London court in July, Judge Andree Nicholl heard evidence presented by Depp and Heard about their troubled married life, alleged scandals, his style of hedonistic claim and the fight against alcohol, as well as their disputes.
The judge's long-awaited decision was announced today, more than three months after the trial was over.
