The European Commission in the Progress Report for Western Balkan States has, among other things, criticised Kosovo with its failure to build a deposit on dangerous waste management, reports news.
According to the EC, Kosovo also has a serious problem in the education system and that no progress has been made in this direction.
Another problem, according to the EC, remains air pollution, and this presents serious health problems for the Kosovo people.
The quality of the education system remains a serious problem and no progress can be reported in this area. Air quality remains a serious public health problem, while the number of illegal waste deposits has only increased from 1,572 to 2017 to 2,529 in 2019. Despite the annulment of EU funds, Kosovo institutions have not yet secured the location for the construction of deposit for the management of dangerous waste”, the report says.
