Kosovo police have confirmed that the national flag is located at the observation tower in Kostunica, where a Serb media reported that a Serbian priest had removed it from the tower.
Kosovo Police spokesman in the Gjakova region Nusret Djurkaj told Telegrafi that the police patrol, which has visited this tower, has confirmed that the national flag is there.
The police patrol has visited the site and can confirm that the flag is there. We don't have any more details at the moment, but the flag's right over there”, Djubkay said of the Telegrafi.
Previously it was reported that, on October 10th, a priest from the Belgrade suburb, after more than seven hours of walking, accompanied by two friends, arrived at the observation tower in Kostunica.
And there, at least according to what Serbian media report, records Telegrafi, “following the commemoration of all heroes from Kostija”, the priest climbed to the floor of the building where he saw the Albanian flag.
When I reached the top, I looked directly at the Albanian flag, the one that was waved from the observation tower since 1999, after the withdrawal of our army. Some emotions invaded me and approached me and removed it”, the Serbian priest was quoted as saying.
In this regard, the KLA War Veterans Organisation has reacted.
KLA War Veterans Organisation Chairman Faton Klinkaku's task force, in a pronomising on Telegrafi, has blamed the country's institutions for this case.
He has said institutions are not taking care of these monuments.
We saw through the media five days ago, they're a joint criminal enterprise as a state, and it doesn't have to do with whether he's a priest, a pop, or anything Albanian about them. The blame is on Kosovo institutions that have no care for the Lapidars, tomb of martyrs, UCK monuments, and the Albanian nation”, Klinaku said.
Klinaku added that justice institutions have to arrest the Serbian priest and put him before the judge to answer for the vandal acts he has committed.
