Macro-Finance assistance (AMF) is part of the EU's broader engagement with neighbouring countries and enlargement, and its goal is to be used as an extraordinary EU instrument for crisis response.
“AMF funds are available in the form of long-term credits with very favourable conditions. The AMF funds will contribute to increased macroeconomic stability and to the creation of room for access to resources for easing the serious socioeconomic consequences of the coronary pandemic. On July 30th 2020, on behalf of the EU, the Commission has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MM) with Kosovo, which is worth up to 100m euros and is divided into two equal installments of 50m euros”, the report said.
“For receiving the second tranche of assistance, nine political conditions agreed on in the Memorandum of Understanding, that is. The measures should address public finances and financial stability, youth unemployment, and good governance and the fight against corruption. Fulfilling policy actions will be assessed before the disbursement of the second tranche, which can be paid in the first half of 2021, depending on the speed at which Kosovo implements agreed policy measures”, becomes known
