The news has been revealed by Kosovo Police, which has reported that around 2:00 today, the police station from the region's “West” have identified five suspects, such as the taxi, who were aimed at carrying 20 immigrants who were from Syria.

Kosovo's “Police in the continuation of its active commitments, ensuring general security for citizens, maintaining public order and providing free movement across the entire territory of the country, is working with dedication, through the Department of Border Police, even in the more professional management and control of the state border of the Republic of Kosovo.
During the KP's continued efforts in combating negative phenomena, especially the fight against smuggling with immigrants, following the operational and investigative commitments today with the 2701.2020 date, around 14:00, the police station from border police station “West” have identified a suspected accident, with the sign <x2taxi<3>, which was banned in the highway exit near the village of Vllmica. The driver of the vehicle, when several more vehicles have arrived, is off the highway, and along with other vehicles, they have been stopped at a restaurant in Vmica. Police units have immediately taken action needed to identify even other drivers, and it is found that all were “tactist”; Four (4) from the Mitrovica Region, and one (1) from the Peja Region.
During the investigative actions, it is understood that they had come to carry several passengers and that one of the taxiists has been in telephone communication with a person suspected of being from the Republic of Albania and another person with whom they have communicated in the Serbian language.
After obtaining information about the location of passengers (immigrants), police units have gone along with taxiists, and about 20) immigrants from Syria have immediately rushed into vehicles.
Police have taken immediate action at the location and after consulting even the competent criminal prosecutor, taxists have been arrested and detained for 48 hours for further legal procedures, while their vehicles have been seized. While twenty (20) migrants have been taken into foreign and merging units within the KB and Regional Investigations for their treatment under the country's applicable laws.
