He was traveling with some of his friends when the helicopter crashed about 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles, while local authorities confirmed there were five people on board, none of whom managed to survive.
Kobe Bryant was born on August 23rd in 1978 and from high school went straight to professional basketball, where he played for a full 20 years with the Los Angeles Lakers team, in which he managed to win the championship title in the NBA all five times.
During his glorious career, Bryant has become 18 times part of the All Star team, 15 times part of All- NBA Team and 12 times part of All-Defensive Team, while in 2008 it was declared The Most Walted Player (MVP) in the NBA.
He is fourth on the NBA's top goal scorer list of all time.
Kobe Bryant bid farewell to his favorite sport in the summer of 2016, while he will be remembered long by basketball fans as one of the most spectacular and appreciated athletes.
