Sam Mendez's drama won the award in the best category of drama “1917x1>, this drama, marked with passion by the British director for an episode of World War I, also received high honours as the best director.
While in the category of movies by the Blackbird Comedy and Music, this title was entitled to “On a Time in Hollywood”. Unlike the Oscar award-sharing ceremony, the Golden Globe divided the main prize into two categories, one for a film “serio” and one for a movie “lighter”.
Tarantino's film received three recognitions. Along with one of the two main awards, the best supportive actor went to Brad Pitt and the best scenario for Tarantino himself.
An amazing turn was that actress Renee Zellweger who won the Best Actress award for her convincing portrayal of Judy Garland at “Judy”, which describes the last few months in the life of the actress and singer who died in 1969.
As most experts had expected, the best actor's award went to Phoenix for his excellent description of an unstable personality in the controversial “Joker”, a character that alternates between violence, psychological crises and inadequacy.
While American actress Awkwafia is still relatively unknown on the international film scene. She became the first Asian-born performer to win a Golden Globe for best actress in the musical or comedy category.
Best original song has been declared “I'm Gonna Love With Again,” Rocketman composed by Elton John, and with text from Bernie Taupin.
Golden Globe included a prize for non-story movies. The award for best foreign-language film went to “Parasit” by director Bong Joon-ho, who had already won Palme dãor at the Cannes Film Festival.
The mini-sector award received “Chernobyl”. The five-day British-American Ministership is a convincing story of the nuclear reactor disaster in 1986.
