Fires were combined overnight in the Omeo region in the state of Victoria, creating a fire of 6,000 hectares (23 sq km), according to the Department of Environment, Earth, Water and Planning of Gippsland.
In neighboring New State South Wales, a fire in the Wollondile region south of Sydney capital remains “out of control”, according to the Royal Fire Service. It has burned 264,000 hectares of land in recent months.
