China is using HIV drugs to treat the deadly coronary while experts seek a cure, according to a report.
China's National Health Commission said two drugs used to fight HIV is being recommended to address symptoms of pneumonia by the virus, Bloomberg reports.
Patients are advised to take pills with lopinavi and Ritonavi twice a day.
Health officials said there are still no known cures for coronary disease.
The US National Institute of Health is exploring the genetic code of the virus and hopes to start testing for a possible vaccine within three months.
Coronavirus originated in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, and so far in China at least 56 people have lost their lives.
