In Pakistan, where 30 people were reported dead, most damage was caused in the southwestern province of Baluchista.
At least 18 people, including women and children, have died in Afghanistan, provinces have said.
Residents of the Afghan capital, Kabul, where temperatures have dropped to - 15 degrees Celsius, have bypassed the direction of vehicles because of inappropriate roads.
