School texts for eight and nine classes this year will not be distributed free of charge by the Ministry of Education.

According to August officials, based on administrative instruction, these classes are obliged to store books and return them to school, where they were later distributed to the next generation. However, directors of some schools say they have not been informed that they should provide old books to distribute this year. Meanwhile, students now have to provide these books on their own.

Eight and nine classroom students cannot have new books in this school year, as the Ministry of Education has not distributed them. They should be provided by friends of the previous generation or buy them in the library. So say students Stina and Ola from the School “Ismail Kemali” in Pristina, which they are told the school has not obtained the books from last year.

Many teachers and school directors said outside Radio's microphone that they have not been notified in time to provide books used in the past year. Some schools already have no eighth and nine books, so students should be interested in providing them for themselves. School director “Faik Conica”, Judge Balaj, has said about RTKs are co-operating with other schools to complete with each other books.

Meanwhile, the director of the Department for Pre-university Education at the Ministry of Education, Alush Istog, told Radio Kosovo that on the basis of administrative instruction, eighth and ninth classes are obliged to preserve books and return them to school, where the school then distributed them to the next generation.

Istog, said the goal of preserving eight and nine classroom texts was also due to budget savings. Meanwhile, new texts, which were drafted for classes 1, 2, 6, 7, 10 and 11.
