Under the Constitution, “in the event the number of seats won is less than 10”, they receive only guaranteed seats.
At the Central Election Commission, participation in the race has confirmed: Independent Liberal Party, Party of Kosovo Serbs, coalition “Liria”, as well as the Serbian List.
Independent Liberal Party leader Slobodan Petrovic, in a conversation with Radio Free Europe, says that in this party's programme there has been and remains the survival of the Serb community in these areas, strengthening the quality of people's lives, security and empowering co-operation among all peoples living in Kosovo.
For us, it's important that every citizen have a quiet life and make it possible for them to live a better and qualitative life. All else in the party programme, which relates to concrete areas concerning agriculture, health, education, are things we work persistently through our party infrastructure”.
But what is essence and foundation, as well as why we've been in politics for 14 years, is the survival of our community in this space, because we want to stay and live here together with our neighbours. With them we want to share both good and bad, and in us these things are not only words but also by works”, Petrovic stressed.
Rada Trajkovic from the Freedom coalition, which includes several Serbian political factors, tells Radio Free Europe, that the first priority of this coalition, through which it will even be distinct, is the minimal rejection of partition of Kosovo's space as a solution to the conflict with Serbia.
I think we've always lived together, we've had different challenges, but the mode for common life can always be found in people with good intentions. That, in fact, means the process of reconciliation. We will actively work for reconciliation and the Iber River do not see it as a river of division, a river of destruction, and where it will always surprise us with new attacks, with new injuries, with conflicts already going through the younger generation, to young people, who really don't have a future perspective, Trajkov noted.
She has added that the coalition she belongs to wants the construction of institutions that are in the function of good for all people living in Kosovo and will not see them according to national affiliation, but not through nepotism. According to her, the coalition “Freedom” will engage in regional co-operation, with all factors in the region.
Aleksandar Jablanovic, leader of the Party of Kosovo Serbs, tells Radio Free Europe, that he engages in a job and political activity of Serbs who think freely, in order to fight for the rights of the Serb community, as well as resisting the influence and pressure of official Belgrade.
Our <x0gram is based, first of all, on solving the problems of Serbs living in Kosovo, through Kosovo institutions, in the way that most respond to us, the Serbs we live in Kosovo, without the implications and blending from abroad, and in particular, without the implications of official Belgrade, which in the past period has often brought us to a non-ex1 position, because we were simply, the currency for coverage of the account between Belgrade and Pristina”
Our main task, which I have not seen to be to our other political colleagues, is the fair link of Serbs in the north and south of the Iber River, because for us it is unacceptable that division in northern Serbs and south of Ibrit”, Jablanovic said.
On the other hand, despite the insistence on receiving an answer to the programme that the Serbian List offers, officials of this political subject have been inseparable.
But, Serbian List Chairman Goran Rakiq on Friday has told the media that this political subject will again have the full support of official Belgrade for these elections.
“With pride I want to say that the Serbian List will again have the powerful support of the state of Serbia and its leader Aleksandar Vuciq, simultaneously, in spite of attacks, not from political parties, but from individuals of Serbs, whose personal interest is on national interest and who, apparently, the state of Serbia does not have the homeland”, Rakiq stressed.
The Serb community in Kosovo, in the past legislative mandate, was represented by 10 deputies, of whom 9 were from the Serbian List, which since the founding has received the support of the authorities of Serbia.
