Last afternoon in Albania came a powerful earthquake, the strongest of the last 30 years, which marked a total of 5.8.
In July, Albania's president, Ilir Meta, sent a letter to Prime Minister Edi Rama, Interior Minister Sander Llesaj and Defence Minister Olita Gacka where he is It signalled an apocalypse earthquake.
Meta also pleaded for an extraordinary meeting of the National Security Council to discuss measures that could be taken for the earthquake, which was expected to be 30 times stronger than the one in Atika.
Following Meta's letter, the head of Greece's Geodynamic Institute, Akis Tselentis, who according to the president, had warned the earthquake. The latter said the region could be hit by a 6-magnitude earthquake.
President's letter:
Your Honor,
Through international and national media, I have been informed of the warning of an apocalypse that is expected to strike the Balkans. The warning has come from the renowned seismologist, Mr. Akis Tselentis, director of the Athens National Observatory Geodynamic Institute.
Seismologist Tselentis has warned of an apocalypse that is expected to strike Ballakin, which may be 30 times more powerful than the one who struck the Athens region several days ago.
Because of its seismic characteristics, our country is one of the highest seismic countries in Europe. Therefore, Albania is a country threatened by this natural phenomenon.
As of above, I ask you to report on:
The responsible institutions, have they contacted seismologist Tselentis and the region's counterpart institutions regarding their records of such warnings?
What are our capacity for coping and measures on your part if our country is hit by an earthquake of such magnitude.
What measures have been taken or will be taken to react in time and downplay possible consequences on the level and locals?
If you consider it necessary, I am willing to gather the National Security Council immediately and exclusively on this issue, since any underestimation of the situation can have tragic consequences for the lives of citizens in the first place.
President of the Republic
Ilir Meta
