Lionel Messi has won the annual Player of the Year award at FIFA's gala.

Barcelona striker Lionel Messi has defeated Virgil van Dijk and Cristian Ronaldo's competition to announce the best in the world by FIFA.

For the best of the world, four categories have voted: national captains, national trainers, journalists and fans. Each man had a right to choose of the three best, with the first of five points, and the second to three, and the third to one.

Albania's captain, Mergim Mavraj, has assessed Cristiano Ronaldon with five points, three Sadio Manen points and a point of Mohammed Salah.

While Albania's coach, Edordo Reja, has assessed Mohammed Salah with five points, three points Lionel Messin and one point Frankie De Jong.
