Macedonia-Kosovo-Albania trade, businesspeople seek improvement of infrastructure

Businessmen from these three appeals countries towards the Government of Northern Macedonia to speed up the construction of the Skopje-Blace Highway, as construction deadlines by 2023 are unacceptable to them.

The construction of the Skopje-Blace Highway as a multi-year business requirement, especially now when the Kosovo part is ready, remains the main problem in infrastructure. We estimate that this moment is critical for this infrastructure project and we appeal to the Government to accelerate this project and solve this problem”, said Nebi Hoxha, chairman O EMVP.

OAK Board Chairman Skender Krasniqi said that Kosovo, in turn, has conducted major investments in infrastructure.

Of course, Kosovo has made a bigger investment in the infrastructure. There are obstacles that I believe will soon be eliminated”, Krasniqi said.

According to Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, the potential for co-operation among the three states is high.

<x) Our goal is rapidly to build the Skopje-Blace axis, at 12.5km”, Zaev said.

In addition to road infrastructure, the business community also complained about non-tariforth administrative barriers, promised by Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi for a quick solution.

“at the same time we will talk very openly with our neighbours to remove any administrative and non-tariforal technical barriers that can create problems in trade between our countries”, said Kreshnik Bektesh, minister of economy.

The B2B regional event by businesspeople from the three countries is being organised by the Northwestern Macedonia Economic Oda. /AlsatM
