International Peace Day is always a special event, and this time marks the 61th anniversary of the Peace Bell, which falls on this day every year.
It was 1954 that this has been forged by coins collected by the children of 60 countries was donated to the United Nations by the United Nations Association of Japan.
Since then, for half a century, the bell has sent powerful messages worldwide regarding mankind's aspirations for peace.
Throughout this time, from the peak of the Cold War to the increasing conflicts within states, from the spread of AIDS to acts of terrorism, the bell echo has remained unchanged, clear and true.
Last year it was John Lennon's ikeonic song, “Imagine”, which became the international anthem of the International Peace Day, after copyright was handed over to the United Nations by Lennon's widow Yoko Ono.
In Kosovo, this year it has not been warned of any activity for this day.
