Cakaj has made the underlining of two issues of importance from this meeting, broadcast Indescsonline.
The visit of European Council President to Tirana today, Mr. Donald Tusk, carry a special meaning before the October decision to start negotiations on EU membership!
Underlining two issues is important:
First, the president of the Council has made once again clear that Albania has met all the necessary conditions to begin the process of membership talks.
Second, the president of the Council from Tirana today has sent a clear message to all member states for the need to move forward in the EU enlargement process, giving the green light to Albania for the opening of membership negotiations.
We expect EU member states to decide based on European Commission positive recommendations for opening negotiations
October. This decision is essential to reward Albania's achievements in the European integration process and to develop
away from credibility in EU enlargement policies in general.
