US Ambassador to Belgrade Kyle Scott, at the end of his three-year mandate, has said Serbia and the US do not share the same stance on Kosovo, but agree that the only way ahead is to continue dialogue and achieve a bilateral agreement on normalisation.
“The US has long ago appointed the special emissary for the Western Balkans and is committed to helping both sides move forward. But don't expect the US to want more than yourself in the region”, Scott said in an interview for the Serbian daily “Blic”, Coha.net broadcasts.
He has reiterated that Serbia must stop lobbiing from states to attract Kosovo recognitions, and has added that it does not understand how it can help reach a partner's humility in the talks.
The campaign to attract recognitions does not help the two sides return to the negotiating table, nothing less than the tax Kosovo” imposed, outgoing US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott has said.
