Tonight at 20:45, at the “Elbasan Arena” stadium, Albania's national team will seek victory over the 36th world-ranked Iceland, 28 positions higher than Albania in the FIFA ranking.
The outcome of this match will be of great importance to the Redborn's hopes of securing a seat at the European Championship, since the three defeats and two so far winnings have left him in a unfavourable position.
So far, Albania ranks fourth in the group, with six points won by five developed matches. On the other hand, three red lady competitors -- France, Turkey and Iceland -- have managed to collect 12 points out of these first five matches.
However, Albania has so far pursued the defeats with victory in this group, and the same will attempt to do tonight, following the 4:1 defeat against France in “Stade de France” on Saturday.
Eddy Rey's team still dreams of taking part in history for the second time in history in a European champion, following the historic qualifications at EURO 2016, where it was then eliminated in the group stage.
To realize this dream, Albania will have to get good results at the five remaining games in the group phase, starting from the match it will host at home tonight. /Gazza Express/
