Denmark's prime minister has said she is surprised and disappointed that Donald Trump, president of America, has cancelled her planned visit to her country after refusing to sell Greenland.

At a news conference today, Mattte Fredericksen reaffirmed that Greenland was for sale.

A discussion about the possibility of selling Greenland has developed. He was rejected by Greenland Prime Minister Kim Kielsen, and I fully support him in this stance,” she said.

Earlier, she had said the proposal to purchase Greenland was absurd.

Frederiksen, however, stressed that the US president's decision would not change strategic, military and commercial co-operation between the two countries.
