Minister Zivic at International Agriculture Conference in Slovenia

Slovenia, August 23rd, 2019 ʹThe acting minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Dijana Zivic is participating in the International Ministerial Conference on “Generation Development and the transfer of knowledge to agriculture development and rural areas”, which is being held in Ptuj in Slovenia.

This conference, which is being held under the International Agriculture and Food Fair, will focus on strengthening the knowledge transfer and innovation system in agriculture with the aim of improving the technological development of agricultural units, introducing new technologies and reducing environmental impact and in the entire food chain.

The agriculture ministers of EU member states, candidate countries and potential candidates for EU accession, during the discussion at this conference, will share thoughts about how to help young people in villages make the environment more friendly so that more young people decide to live in rural areas and work as farmers.

During this visit, Minister Zivic will also participate in the opening of Slovenia's 57th International Agriculture and Food Fair (AGRA), which is organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, where she will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts of participating states at the fair.
