Conflict in Kosovo at the end [...]
The conflict in Kosovo in the late 1990s led to tens of thousands of victims, and hundreds of thousands of civilians were displaced from their homes.
Yet, to this day, the rights of victims have not been adequately addressed.
According to the KNKK, 1,653 persons out of 6,024 reported missing persons between 1998 and 2000 still remain undiscovered.
To that end, this International Day conference of violent victims of extinctions aims to support the process of whiteening the fate of missing persons by:
I) strengthened co-operation among families of missing persons from all ethnic backgrounds;
II) sought responsibility from relevant government institutions; and
III) raised awareness and understanding of the general public on the issue of missing persons.
Conference speakers and panelists have been selected based on their expertise, role and responsibility regarding the issue of missing persons.
Participants will have an opportunity to interact with speakers and panels at the end of presentation and discussion sessions on the panel.
The number of participants will be approximately 100 and will include representatives from families of missing persons, embassies, relevant local and international institutions and civil society
