KEK Managing Director Nijazi Thaci has said that given the performance achieved, it is expected that even in the second quarter of this year, the results will be exceeded or doubled.
And we're in the mining division here and compared to the first six months of 2018, in this six-month month, we've got an increase in sweat production in over 20%. If 3.6 million cubic metres of sweat were produced last year, it has exceeded over 4 million this year. And the implementation of coal, which is the first subject for electricity production, has gone beyond 100% from planning or 20% from the first quarter of last year. We also have an extremely good performance of Kosovo A and Kosovo B thermal power blocks. The Kosova A thermal power plant, although with extensive equipment over 60 years, their availability, even though 50% of the work has been planned, has passed over 70% each. So, the Kosova A thermal power plant has passed the plan over 12%, while the Kosovo B thermal power plant has passed the production plan over 5%. We also have an extremely good performance in all other sectors, including the realisation of capital projects where in this six-month, we've exceeded over 100% signing contracts for capital projects, which means we've increased company capital over 10%. On the basis of these results, the company's profit or profit for this six-month month has reached 8m euros. We expect that in the next six months, we will overcome or double these results, for reasons we've told them before, this year we've started the remonting of the blocks in the summer period. We started in March where we have the B2 B2 B block of Kosovo and the A3 bloc of Kosovo A, which is now about to close down and in September we're going to be available, so from September 1st to the Kosovo Energy Corporation, we're going to have all the blocks available for electricity production”
* The best teller of all this corporate performance is the realisation of net profits, which by 31 June alone has increased in value from less than 7.59 million euros.
* The company's captain has grown as a result of positive performance in the first six months of 2019.
* Despite the many difficulties we have faced, the Mining Division has shown excellent performance by providing stability in the production of electricity.
* General performance in the first six months of 2019.
*City production through the six-month I 2016-2019 Data Source: Mining Division
Good results, of course, we've had in the production of electricity and that in the two thermals. Besides having exceeded the production plan and operating by energy balance, we have reduced the unplanned declines of the blocks to minimum, and in time we have completed all the planned resources.
* If you look at the report's signs, it is clear that all the blocks of the Termocentrals, as in “Kosovo A” as well as “Kosovo B” we have reached and the planned limits.
* All these statistics have been made public by KEK manager Nyazi Thaci during the release of the first quarter of 2019 report.
With all the specifics of the work, the Kosovo Energy Corporation's average age of workers is 58 years and to keep up the work rate and achieve of successes, this company has begun to cool down by employing young people in different profiles.
We've hired 108 technical profile workers this year, which are more than necessary to us. The Kosovo Energy Corporation differs from other public enterprises, as it is known, has its own specifics of work due to complex nature. Right on this very issue, every new framework employed at KEK, is first obliged to undergo technical training, job safety training and other training, because we have an extremely professional training centre with international experts, who, besides KEK workers, perform training for all young people interested in adapting to the labour market in the future”, said managing director Njeazi Thaci.
Also, positive developments in the company have made the foreign audience's report more important and powerful.
“Based on the Law for Public Enterprises, we are obliged to make an external audit by the certified company. KEK has fulfilled this criterion, and what is most important to mention is that the audit report has been approved without any remarks. So KEK has fulfilled all legal, technical objectives that are ahead of the laws of Kosovo”, has declared further, KEK Managing Director Nyazi Thaci adding that given the EC Board-admitted performance report is clearly seen as having an extremely good performance in all sectors.
