News reported by Greek public television station ERT.
The woman's body, which had disappeared while running, was found by a volunteer fireman five miles [1.5 km] from the hotel where she was staying with her boyfriend.
The causes of death are not yet clear.
On July 16, American Susanne Eaton, 60, a biologist by profession, was found killed in a cave on the island of Crete.
Eato was on the island to attend a scientific conference at the Orthodox Academy of Crete.
According to doctors, she had passed away from the day she disappeared.
Refusing to give up further details while the case is under investigation, legal doctors said that” is clearly a murder, but has not come through the use of weapons”.
