Most of the weapons Serbian citizens have by law are those of hunting, weapons of personal security, but the state has a big problem with illegal weapons, which is a legacy of 1990s wars, writes Politika, broadcasts Kosovo.
Keeping automatic weapons, such as “kallashnikovs” and as well as explosive devices, are a serious crime in all countries of the world, and the law in Serbia does not deviate here either.
Three years ago, 18,000 illegal weapons were destroyed in Serbia, seized by authors or handed over by citizens themselves.
From 2014 to last year, Serbia's Interior Ministry conducted three legal weapons processes. Also, since June 1, 2017, laws have been strengthened.
For weapons in illegal possession, a sentence of two to 12 years in prison is envisioned, broadcasts the Kosovo Clan.
However, there is still a large quantity of weapons on the black market, which can be bought by vendors for several hundred euros.
