Kosovo sources within this court have indicated that the decision to continue detention, the Pristina Constitutional Court, has based on the possibility of danger of running away and preventing investigations by influencing witnesses on the part of the defendants, as well as the weight and importance of criminal acts.
The detainees are suspected of criminal activity “participation or organisation of organised criminal group”, “misusing official duty or authority”, and “bribery taking”.
Officially acknowledging this act has confirmed for Kosova Prees, the defender of one of the suspects in this case, lawyer Musa Damati.
He warned a complaint at the Court of Appeals believing that this Court will consider all appeals and will resolve the case more correctly.
Otherwise, on May 28th of this year, the special police units held a large action in four Serb-run municipalities in northern Kosovo, with scores of people arrested, including two UNMIK employees, one of whom was Russian citizens, while there were tensions and injuries during this police action.
