At this meeting, Wessel has introduced Senator Menandez to political developments in Kosovo and the region, while thanking him for the American Senate's contribution and support role for the Republic of Kosovo. The topic of discussions at this meeting was the process of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and the importance that US direct evolution has for Kosovo in this process.
“Pa America cannot have final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. The US's direct evolution into this process is essential for realising the agreement, which will ensure recognition of the independence of Kosovo's independent and sovereign state, as well as sitting at the UN”, Veselin said.
Senator Menandez said it is very important that Kosovo be ready for the final phase of dialogue for reaching the final agreement.
“I have been very proud since 2008 The US were among the first to recognise the independence of the Republic of Kosovo. US support for Kosovo will continue even in the future”, Menandez said.
Chief Parliamentary Wessel has met many other high personalities during the official visit to Washington at the invitation of the American Congress.
