Russia has said that an intervention of military aircraft in South Korea's territorial airspace was not deliberate, according to Seoul's presidential office, reports “Bbc”.
A Russian military official expressed deep regret at the South Korean defence ministry and blamed a technical mistake, South Korea said.
On Tuesday, Seoul said a Russian combat aircraft had twice violated territorial airspace.
The Russian Ministry of Defence had earlier denied this.
But the South Korean Blue House said at a conference Russia had now said the violation was unintentional and that an investigation into the case would immediately begin.
“Moscow said if the plane flew down a planned route initially, this incident would not have occurred,” said the spokesman.
This was not confirmed by Russian officials.
