Radosavlevq: From lose tax is Serbia's budget

In the “Taxa 100 per cent debate, who won, who lost and what?”, head of the Association of Serbian Afarists in Kosovo, Sasa Sekulic, in addition to the lack of goods that have been spent, the trade sector has had the most problems under which the 1,000 articles are under which most of them are missing. Problem [...]

Another problem, according to Sekulich, is the lack of agricultural products.

He also said that the political circumstances created in Kosovo can further lift the tax.

The trade sector has had the most problems, most of what they once had in their markets, is about a thousand items that many articles are missing. The buyers, on the other hand, had a problem. We've thought the tax would soon be lifted, but as things go now, where the elections follow and this is postponed. So, I think it would be good for all and consumers to find the way to remove tax”, Sekulic said, the Kosovas broadcasts.

Acting Deputy Finance Minister Fatmir Gashi said the government's decision on Serbian goods is to stop Serbia's aggression towards Kosovo.

According to him, Kosovo has benefited 7m euros from customs revenues since the introduction of the tax on Serbian goods and those from Bosnia.

The replacement of Serbian products, according to Gashi, is made by neighbouring states and the EU.

Gashi has stressed that tax losers are only businesses in Serbia.

The decision, which the Government of Kosovo has made, is political. It's not about economics. For me, it is the political decision to stop aggression in different areas towards Kosovo. Now, who wins and who loses out on this tax? Kosovo's budget has not lost a cent, but has won 7m euros from customs taxes after the tax. It has been a favourable climate in terms of Kosovo buyers and products, but that has not been the target”, Gashi said.

While Nenad Radosavlevki from the League for Kosovo said 100 per cent tax is foolish, and that, according to him, with this decision, it is meaningless to expect recognition from Serbia.

According to him, losers are Serbia's Serbian producers, businessmen and budgets, while the winner is Prime Minister in resignation Ramush Haradinaj.

“Who loses? There are many who may lose, primarily lose Serbia's producers, businessmen and budget for the fact that they have lost the market. Then they lose Serbs who are already used to products coming from Serbia and now have no chance to provide these articles. There are also those who are residents of Kosovo, because they have lost the opportunity to supply quality goods. On the other hand, Serbs in northern Kosovo have lost because of the Fund, which has not been successfully exploited, but there has been a possibility that many projects out of this money had to be done, which already will not be possible, because this Fond will not even exist in”, Radosavovic said.

The head of the Association, Ceatin Kacanic, stressed that the 100 per cent tax on Serbia's products has not been taken in co-operation with consumers, and no government has been told it benefits them.

This measure was not taken in co-operation with the consumer citizen and was never said to have been taken to protect rights, obligations and the dignity of the consumer citizen who is at the same time taxpayer, and it is meaningless that no one asks us about anything”, Kachanic said.

The 100 per cent tax decision on Serbian and Bosnian goods is made by the Kosovo government on November 21st 2018. Resigned Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has repeatedly repeated that the tax will be lifted only when Serbia recognises Kosovo.
