They protest, as they say, institutional neglect of the police and the trial for the 11-year-old murder that took place last week.
Gazmend Qyqalla, activist and member of the Ashkali community has called for protest today so that rapes and killings are not allowed to be concealed within the walls of public institutions.
We invite you all to stand in protest before the police and not to allow rapes and murders to be concealed within the walls of these institutions that are at least protecting us. On Friday at 14;00, we gather at the Meshar neighbourhood to continue towards the Kosovo Police Station”, he said.
Otherwise, the Constitutional Court in Pristina has decided on the 1 month detention measure for the suspect in the 11-year-old murder.
S.O. has been arrested several days after K. Wessel was found killed on July 7th under the steps of a building in Fushe Kosovo.
Even the suspect and the deceased already belong to the Ashkali community, while the juvenile family have indicated they have announced the case in the police. The prosecution had only made a criminal statement for S.O. and the same one was released.
