The man, also known as <x0.King Bibi” by his supporters and opponents, has already spent 4867 days or more than 13 years as Israel's prime minister.
Over the past two decades, the 69-year-old politician, who previously served in the military, has won several sets of elections with promises that he will make Israel a safe and well-being, putting Palestinians aside.
He has convinced many voters that it is irreplaceable”, says Gideon Rahat, professor of political science at the University of Jerusalem and member of the Israeli Institute for Democracy.
Despite breaking the historical record, Netanyah must win the September elections and be acquitted of three corruption charges to continue his long course at the head of the Israeli government.
His supporters say Israel has never been richer, safer and more accepted in the world, including Arab states.
On the other hand, Netanyah's opponents say he has often triggered divisions in Israeli society, stigmatized the mythorities of winning elections and oppressed activists for human rights protection, writes the Guardian”
