German Ambassador: Important for Kosovo to soon have functional government

In a response to Radio Free Europe, concerning Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's resignation from his position, Heldt has said Germany respects, “the independence of the Specialised Chambers and the decision of Prime Minister Haradinaj”.

Kosovo continues to face significant political challenges, in particular political dialogue with Serbia and domestic political reforms. It is important that Kosovo soon has a functional” government, the German ambassador has indicated among other things.

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has resigned Friday from his position after receiving an invitation for an interview by the Special Court in The Hague in the quality of the suspect.
