Luka has said September will be the crucial month for construction of the “New Kosovo thermal power plant.
He has said that unless funding is secured by Contour Global, Kosovo will receive a damages of 7.5m euros due to its failure to implement the contract.
Luka has said in RTV Duguagjini that if Kosovo does not approve the construction of this thermal power plant, it should pay 19.6m euros after millions of euros have been spent on research and other things.
The Minister of Economic Development has said the company should provide water and coal to function normally, and for that the guarantor should be the Government of Kosovo, as our companies have no capacity for such large projects.
Luka has yet to say how much impact will have on the increase in consumer electricity prices.

He has said civil society is counting as the 80-dollar ceiling price for megawatts that are wrong, as it will not be the price of buying energy for the next 20 years.
