Former Finance Minister and longtime Turkish President Ali Babacan's associate of finance has indicated that with the help of former head of state Abdullah Gül will establish a new party in the autumn.
In Turkish opinion, only last hand is being given the project. “is working on developing a vision of global sizes”, says one person from the close circle of the party founder, quoted by the DW.
Babacan is a well-known name for his leading skills in Turkey's economic policy, so it is not surprising that the creation of the new party is expected with much interest. One side says that he is the man who will end the AKP's game, Babacan has the capacity to become president, others say.
Besides Babacan, there are other known names that could be added to the new party. Sadullah Ergin, who has been justice minister Besir Atalay who is committed to the peace process with Kurds, or former Constitutional Court head Hasim Kilic.
Political observers say that in Babacni, the important thing is that there is a clear vision for the future, and this vision would have to be according to them, for the new party to do the opposite of what the ruling AKP has done over the past seven years.
