As of today, testing driver's license knowledge will be made electronically, where the first candidates using this app have been tested today.
E-testing applications were beginning to come true in 2017 and cost 240 thousand euros.
Infrastructure and Transport Minister Pal Lekaj has closely followed the implementation of electronic test for driver's license, where he said candidates are being given a standard that Europe has.
“Today is a good day we're starting to implement a European standard that has an impact on the safety of citizens, but even on that injustice or rising level for candidate and I think it's a good job. I thank all those who have worked in this direction so that we can be together today and give a good one to these candidates, a standard that has Europe and tell the citizens that we are here to create the criteria that go in security of drivers, but also citizens. There is no obstacle that will stop us from respecting standards, rules and law, because we are here to keep all those who receive driver's license first so that when they take responsibility to preserve their lives, they will also respect the standards they have taught, or the signs they have learned. I hope this department isn't going to be more talked about as in time, or somehow they've been talking about this department, and maybe for two years I can say that I haven't had any arguments that someone came up and told me this candidate did this, this examiner did this and I think they were more of a subject than”, Lekaj said.
He said he has been determined that when he took over the minister's office for this department to break a rule and that rule is taking place today.
Project manager Naim Kelmendi stated that the entire project had begun in May 2017 and that the first candidates are being tested today.
“is a project launched in May 2017, and with continued support of the minister's cabinet and minister in particular, we have come to the stage when today the first candidates using this app will be tested. Applications for all candidates generate questions electronically and for all candidates with unique questions. After the final exam, everyone will get the result generated by the system. The system is much broader when digitalisation of the entire process of patented driver candidate from the moment the candidate is registered in an auto school until he is physically equipped with a driver's license. The project has been passed in several phases, the first phase has been application preparation now we are in the second stage of the pilot phase, which we will make a real test for these candidates, Kelmendi said.
He said that if there is eventually a need for future improvements, they will implement them and then extend to all of Kosovo.
