The chairman of the Republic of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, has hosted Norway's ambassador to Kosovo, Per Strand Sjaaadadis, with which he has signed the Co-operation Agreement for the implementation of the project for digitisation of its linguistic legislation and harmonisation, funded by the Norwegian state, worth 2.5m euros.
Thanks to Ambassador Sjaaaded '%s', and the Norwegian state for its continued support for Kosovo, Chief Parliamentary Veselin said that with an opportunity to digitise legislation, citizens of Kosovo, media, civil society organisations, political parties, different institutions, would have easy access to Kosovo laws.
Wessel said this project, model “Lowdata”, as one of the most advanced models of law digitalism, to be implemented for decades in the state of Norway, marks the first step of E-government in Kosovo.
“Contemporary harmonisation is the two-partial component of this project. This harmonization is of utmost importance to our multiethnic society because differences between laws in different languages exist through it. In this direction we are working together with our partners in an official three-language dictionary, Albanian-Serbian-In English. Most of the budget for realisation of this important project will be a donation from the state of Norway, while the project will be funded in part by our” budget, Chief Prime Minister Wessel stressed.
He added that from today, Kosovo's parliamentary democracy is closer to contemporary trends of legislation and transparency towards citizens.
Norwegian Ambassador Per Strand Sjaadedés, in turn, stressed that funding this project is confirmation of the state support it represents for reforms in Kosovo.
This project will be a very important and useful mechanism for all lawmakers, for legal professionals, such as prosecutors and lawyers, as well as all ordinary citizens in this country”, Ambassador Sjastadhouse stressed, adding that Norway's contribution to this project will be about 2.3m euros.
He has thanked Chief Parliamentary Veselin for his close co-operation with the Norwegian state and has praised his role in democratisation and transparency of the Kosovo Assembly./Periscopi/
