CEC Ready for Choice

Kosovo's prime minister, yesterday after the government's meeting, delivered the news of the irrevocable “resignation”, which also caught its co-partisans in surprise.

Valmir Elez, spokesman at the CEC, told Koha.net that this institution is ready for elections whenever they are held.

The Central Election Commission is the permanent institution that the main task has to organise elections whenever required. The CEC will also fulfil the duties under the Constitution and the laws in force”, Elesi said.

Opposition parties, Vetevendosje and the Democratic League, have called on the president of Kosovo to set the election date as soon as possible.

And, meanwhile, they have said they do not accept any meeting where they would discuss the next mandate.
