Through a Twitter post, Bolton said that “is the time for both sides to act immediately”.
It was a pleasure to meet Minister Dacic. We agreed that dialogue with Kosovo should move forward, as neither side wins from the status quo. The time to act on both sides is now”, Bolton wrote.
Meanwhile, in an interview for the Serbian-language Voice of America, Dachic has said that the US “administration understands that the problem is not in Belgrade, but the problem lies in Kosovo, in Pristina authorities”.
Speaking of meetings with senior American officials, he said that “finding a lasting and peaceful solution to the Kosovo problem remains high on US President Donald Trump's administration's foreign policy priorities”.
Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia that is eased by the European Union has been interrupted since November last year, after the government in Pristina imposed tariffs on Serbian goods.
Serbian authorities demand the removal of the fee so they can return to the negotiating table, but the Kosovo government says that without a framework of agreement envisioning recognition on Serbia, they will not abolish the fee.
