Slovenia will include 35 soldiers to protect the border with Italy from illegal migrations, Slovenian media reported today, citing the country's defence ministry.
In the Kopri region, where the illegal influx of migrants has been observed in recent weeks and at police request, 35 additional army members will be sent to support the police tomorrow.
The military will use most of the military's tools in its regular use, from surveillance tools to armoured vehicles, and during the day, in patrols mixed with police, the army unit on company level will be assisted, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
Slovenia's added commitment to preventing illegal migration to the border with Italy began earlier this month when joint units of Slovenian and Italian police were introduced.
