KDTP chairmanship member and former deputy chairman of Prizren's Municipal Assembly, Orhan Lopar, has reacted to the head of the Vetevendosje Movement Parliamentary Group, Glauk Konjufca.
Lopar has reminded Konjufces that they have voted the Constitution and recognised the state of Kosovo.
He even asked Konjufka if he ever had the Kosovo flag in his hand.
Orhan Lopar's full delivery:
Ooo Glauk Konjufca. We know exactly where we are living. Kosovo is our state, we as the Turkish Democratic Party as the Turkish MP of Kosovo have voted the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and recognised the republic of Kosovo. Where were you then? We love our homeland and the Kosovo flag, I ask Glauk! Have you taken advantage of the Republic of Kosovo flag...
Why the response?
Yesterday, the party's 6+ MP, Fikrim Damka, has called for answers to why the extraordinary session for discussing the Investigative Commission's report on the expulsion of six Turkish citizens has been requested.
He said this session has poor background and ill intentions, as according to him it allows damage to reports between Kosovo and Turkey.
MP Damka said the report compiled by the commission is fatal and judicial failure.
I'm thinking this whole thing has a background or bad intentions. One, by reducing our reputation, the damage to excellent reports between Kosovo and Turkey, is to be attacked unnecessarily by the president of Kosovo, who responded to the commission's call, to show disrespect and lower credibility for our institutions... The report compiled on the part of the commission is a fatal report and judicial failure which the commission itself has made wrong with the commitment of the international expert, just when it has assigned an expert from America and here we have a conflict because America is the state that houses this terrorist organisation. I'm asking you, is there any logic that someone is hosting the head of the terrorist organization and then making a credible expertise”, he said.
He said the deportation of six members of Fetos from the state of Kosovo has to do with fighting terrorism and is not disturbing.
It is strange to him how the report about the expulsion of Turkish citizens has not mentioned how the FETO organisation has bombed Turkey's Parliament, nor the murders and violations of human rights that, according to Damka, this organisation has made.
MP Damka said the 6+ MP group opposes the approval of the commission's report, which it has called unilateral and selective.
To these statements, Vetevendosje MP Glauk Konjufca has responded, who has called on MP Damka not to use the Parliament's speaker to attack reports between Kosovo and the US.
He has also called on him to make the difference that he is speaking in the Kosovo Assembly, not Turkey's.
First “, Mr. Damka here is not in the Parliament of Turkey, but you are in the Kosovo Parliament, this distinction is essential to doing it when you get there in the speaker. Second, we invite you all as Kosovo deputy not to misuse the speaker to attack a very important report between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States. Third, I said at the outset of my speech, reports with Turkey are seen by the prism of equality, reciprocity and mutual interests. And what has happened to the deportation of Turkish citizens is the report of vasality and submission when you submit fully to the commands of another country. Thus, reports between Kosovo and Turkey should not be built, this is a report of inequality and submission, and it is a shame if you contribute to it's report of submission and vassality. We are for excellent relations with Turkey «, we will always be and we will always distinguish Turkey from power in Turkey. Why Mr. Damka, that today may be Erdogan, but tomorrow it is not, or Turkey continues to be. Kosovo always has an interest in fine relations with Turkey, but not that of 15th and 16th centuries, but of 21st century, equality reports”, he said.
There has also been a reaction by LDK deputy chief Avdullah Hoti, who has said the investigative commission mandate has not included reviewing relations between Kosovo and Turkey or other states, but reviewing procedures on how the deportation has been made.
The investigation commission's “mandate has not included reviewing relations between Kosovo and Turkey, nor Kosovo with the US, nor such an issue. The commission's mandate has been to review the legal procedures for the deportation of six Turkish citizens from Kosovo institutions to Turkey, that is all. I believe there is no place in this country even in this session to divert debate now in relations between Kosovo and Turkey”, he said.
