He stole 80 million Euros by presenting himself as French defence minister in a silicon mask.

Stealing identity is said to be the fastest growing crime in the world, and there is no more appropriate confession than that of a French false minister and his silicon mask. For two years, since the end of 2015, an individual or some individuals who impersonated the minister [...]
For two years, since the end of 2015, an individual or several individuals who were impersonating France's defence minister, Jean Ive Le Drian [Jean-Yan-Yves Le Drian] stole over 80 million euros from wealthy victims including wine owners Chateau Margaux, Aga Khan.
The cheater asked the victims to believe they were in contact with Mr. Le Aryan, who later asked him for financial help to pay the ransom for journalists held hostage by Islamists in the Middle East, translates Periscopi from the BBC.
Since France officially did not pay the ransom for the hijackers, Le Drianni assured those who would not be followed and asked that the funds be handed over to a bank in China.
Many of these people felt cheated and did not eat it.
But some of them were enough to make Le Driann false as one of the most strange and successful con men of modern times.
Everything about this story is extraordinary,” said Delphine Mellett, Mr. Le Aryan, who is now the foreign minister of France.
“They had the courage to assume the identity of a French minister in office. Then they could have called the executive directors of powerful companies and leaders of governments around the world asking for huge amounts of money. ”
Why Lee Aryan was chosen is not entirely explained.
One of the reasons is that this minister does not appear so much in public and is not well-known.
Before 2012, Mr. Le Drian was a socialist politician in British, France. Someone with a bigger profile in the media would be more difficult to present.
The case is under investigation, and the chief defendant is a Franco-Israel artist named Gilbert Chikli. He is finally in prison in Paris after being extradited from Ukraine and facing various charges of organised fraud and usurping identity. /Periscope
