Eight months ago, Kathryn Mayorga accused Cristian Ronaldo of raping him in the early hours of June 13, 2009, after meeting at a nightclub in Las Vegas.
Mayorga, then 25, had reported the attack on Las Vegas police. She had not identified Ronaldo by name because she said that he was a public figure and feared Portuguese. She was taken to the hospital and investigated if there were signs of rape.
During the following months, according to Mayorga lawyers, Ronaldo's private investigator had found the American and had kept track of all her movements. She also claims Ronaldo's lawyers had forced him to sign a document.
In that document, Mayorga promised never to speak publicly about the incident and in return took $3375. This document was also signed by Mayorga and by Ronaldo in January 2010.
In 2017 the German newspaper Der Spiegel published an article in which Ronaldo was accused of rape, but Mayorga's name was anonymous. Many of the newspaper's information was provided by documents and messages provided by Football Leax.
Ronaldo's agent immediately denied this news, but he never charged Der Spiegel or Mayorgan with slander.
In September 2018, Der Spiegel published another article, this time telling the complete confession of the Mayoga, which revealed its identity. In that article, Maryoga explains in detail how Ronaldo had attacked him and what had happened to him in the years to come.
Der Spiegel also discovered some documents of this case, including statements given by Ronaldo. In these documents, the Portuguese had admitted that he had been harsh with Mayorgan and that she had said no to him several times before she violated him.
Ronaldo's lawyers, but even the Portuguese himself, have denied the news several times. However, because of reliable documents published, Las Vegas police had reopened the investigation into the case.
Mayorga had indicted Juventu's star not only for rape but also for the pressure he had later put on and sent through private investigators. /Gazza Express/
