Ministry does not carry 300 thousand euros to Vushtrri, 65 water-free villages

It has been six months since the Kosovo Assembly has approved the budget, including the allocation of 300 thousand euros for the closure of the municipality of Vushtri in a water supply, but about 65 villages in this town still have no water to drink. This is because the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning still [...]
The first of the Vushtrri municipality, Xhafer Tahiri in an interview for Kosova Preris, says the ministry is blocking the water supply project from now six months.
In spite of that, he declares that the project would continue with municipality self-sufficient means and citizens' participation.
“We have allocated a budget of nearly 200,000 euros from the municipality of Vushtrri and also through the commission for budget and finance, the Kosovo Assembly in the 2019 Budget Law has a set-up of 300 thousand euros for this year and 300 thousand euros for next year for individual links to the water supply network in the municipality of Vushtrri. So far, the Ministry of Environment, even though six months have passed, we have no contact with them, despite our constant demands to sign the memorandum and start the jobs still have no answer. As time moves on and we risk the means that have been separated from the Assembly of Kosovo for this purpose ... I don't know what is happening in the minister of Environment, we haven't been invited. In fact, there are few projects the Kosovo government has divided for Vushtre in the 2019 budget and is delaying. I expect them to reflect on and on the Minister of Environment it and the Government of Kosovo”, says Chairman Tahiri.
For the government's new decision to appoint the Regional Water Company board “Mitrovica”, Tahiri says they have been appointed politically and not professional.
The chairman of Vushtrria threatened Government that, in the event of no reflection, they would reconsider co-operation with this company.
We are without a political and non-professional board. We expect the Government of Kosovo to reflect on this direction so that the Regional Water Company Mitrovica really will have the best performance. We have good co-operation with the current management of the company, but that the political board can certainly make these co-operation difficult. We have issued the statement that as a municipality we will review all our co-operation as a company without the mayors asking for”, he says.
Mayor Tahiri for Kosovo Preress also denied all speculation that there is divisions among the ruling coalition he leads. The emphasis is that there is complete stability among all parties.
“We have a full stability of the ruling coalition. We lead the largest coalition in all of Kosovo... normally that sometimes there may be issues that we cannot be satisfied with all coalition partners”, Tahiri claims.
