At the Association of Mjedra Cultivators, they say that this form of subvention is better, though the price would have to be higher.
The Ministry of Agriculture will also be subsidising raspberry growers this year, but, unlike last year, when it received 400 euros for a hectare this year, subsidies will be made for the amount produced. According to Isuf Cikaci, director of the Department of Agricultural Policy, in the Ministry of Agriculture, milk growers would support 8 cents per kilogram of raspberries.
This year, we've changed the way the raspberry subvention is. We'll provide subsidies for the raspberry culture for the production of fruits, not for surfaces. Farmers will get eight cents per kilo delivered. This will affect farmers for them to increase productivity, as the more productivity they get, more will be obtained by”, Cikaci told RTK.
This form of subvention is not being enjoyed by farmers with small raspberry surfaces. But Sami Uka, chairman of the Mjedra Cultivative Association, says subsidy for the amount produced is good and it was a demand of farmers.
This is a very good step, constantly required by associations and farmers. This shape directly stimulates labor farmers, those who work diligently have high productivity”, he said.
Uka claims that farmers have believed that the value of subsidy will be higher, in view of the decline in the price, and the severe damage that raspberry growers suffered in recent years.
In view of the consequences of the past two years and the major sector crisis, we have considered that the government has had to be much more flexible, in the sense of helping farmers with a higher subsidy in order to repair the damage. ”
The average productivity for a raspberry hectare is declining year-on-year, says the Association of Manufacturers. From 6 tons in 2017 to 4.5 tons last year. The raspberry growers had to harvest 5,000kg of raisins in a hectare this summer.
The raspberry growers can apply until June 30th. The planting of this tree culture took off years ago, since it contributed greatly to its subsidies and benefits, but the decrease has caused many farmers to destroy their raspberry orchards.
