During the day today, the Chief Interpol Committee in Lyons (France) argued about Kosovo's application for membership in this institution and decided in favour of sending the Kosovo Police file to the Interpol General Assembly, which will be held this year in Chile.
So said Astrit Zemaj, deputy director general of the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through a Facebook post that added that Kosovo police were named at the highest level of professionalism and credibility, as a modern police organisation with advanced standards.
The composition of the Executive Committee for 2019 out of a total of 10 participating states in today's debate were only three states that have recognised our country's independence, and almost all participants argued in favour of the Kosovo Police application to proceed further to the General Assembly. Therefore, we hope that Serbia too will call the voice of reason and do not act on its instructions against peace and security. It would be primitive and outside any logic preventing and lobby against Kosovo Police membership in the international Interpol organisation, and on the other hand to talk about peace and security”, Zemaj wrote.
