About 250 immigrant children were displaced from the crowded centre after lawyers who saw the situation closely said the children were short-handed”.
This comes after the number of migrants seized at the border rose in May to the highest level since 2006.
Meanwhile, the highest official on the US border has said he is leaving. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed that Action Commissioner John Sanders would leave this position 5 July.
Sanders announced his resignation in an e-mail to the BKP staff, received by the American media.
President Donald Trump plans to appoint Mark Morgan, director of the Agency for Migration and Customs (ICE), to replace Saunders, according to American media.
