The 3rd meeting of the SAA subcommittee for agriculture, rural development, fisherman and food safety is held

The delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, led by Secretary General Kapllan Halimi, has remained in Brussels for two days under the third subcommittee meeting for “Buyces, Rural Development, Fisherman and Food Security”, which was realised between the European Commission and the Republic of Kosovo.

The purpose of this meeting was to assess the implementation of obligations stemming from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement ? SAA, which entered into force in April 2016, as well as implementation of the European Commission's Subcommittee Report recommendations.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development was an active reporting part of this subcommittee, where representatives from the Food and Veterinary Agency were present, as well as European Integration ministers.

During the meeting, representatives of the MBPZHR reported the progress achieved during 2018 for development of the agricultural sector, as well as future challenges, focusing particularly on measures undertaken to improve the business situation of agricultural products, organic farms, market standards, quality policies and legislation, fishing and its sub-products, etc.
